What is a Grapat?
Grapat toys are beautifully crafted, open-ended wooden toys designed to encourage imaginative play. These toys are inspired by the principles of Waldorf education and are made to foster creativity, free play, and sensory development in children. Each piece is unique due to the natural materials and handcrafting process, making them not only toys but also pieces of art.
Grapat is a Spain-based company that specializes in handmade wooden toys for toddlers and children. They use natural materials such as wool, hemp and cotton to make the toys.
Many of the items are eco-friendly and sustainable. Made by hand, these clever little toys are made with love from almost all locally sourced materials, subject to nature making every piece unique.
The company is committed to offering high-quality products while also stimulating creativity in children through the use of their products.
Currently, Grapat sells its products online and at different exhibitions around Europe.
How Do Kids Play with Grapat?
Children can play with Grapat toys in various ways, depending on their age and developmental stage:
Toddlers (1-3 years): The specially designed Grapat toys have the characteristic of enabling toddlers to learn through touch. They can pile up the pieces, sort them and arrange them which aids the fine motor skill and the hand-eye coordination of a child.
Preschoolers (3-5 years): Despite this, Grapat toys can also be used for more complex play by preschoolers. They can build patterns, make small worlds and also role play which improves their imagination, communication skills and thinking abilities.
School-Age Children (5+ years): Even older children can use Grapat toys in their learning activities. They can count on them, use them to recognize patterns and tell stories. Kids can play with Grapat toys in various ways as they fit together perfectly and foster learning and imagination.
What Is Grapat Mandala About?
The Grapat Mandala is a set of small wooden pieces whose purpose is to create various patterns and shapes. It is used by both children and adults for being able to perform mindful play. undefined
