This beautiful Wooden Free Play Box from Grapat, provides a place within which a great variety of games and activities can take place. It becomes a framework for children’s play and exploration, a place that naturally sets limits and boundaries.

This box provides an isolated and enclosed area which helps to develop a certain care and respect towards the action within it. A child’s game sometimes needs a container, an area which holds the action and that enables children to perceive their limits and understand space.

The box can becomes a sensorial game when filled with sand, flour, salt, rice, etc. or a place to build an imaginary small world.

Hand stamped on the base are images which evoke the four classical elements: earth, water, air and fire. These elements are an integral part of our human existence and connect us with nature.

The allegory to these elements can also be used as a game space or as an invitation to organise and classify.

    Great tray

Perfect for sand play. A great option for anyone of any age wanting to do sand play for fun or therapy with a smaller (and much cheaper). You would need to treat the timber for anything involving water as it is a wooden tray. Probably with oil and then a coat of water resistant paint. Even then I wouldn't pour water in it. But damp sand would be ok after that
